Sleepy days!

Well, I hope you all had your fill of turkey, making my last one today... I don't know that it actually makes me tired, but they say something in it has that affect. Ofcourse, I guess you can't be tired already for it to have an impact!

Wow did the Big 10 teams take a beating this past weekend. Well in general anyway. Purdue lost a close game they had with just a few minutes left and MSU fell apart.

High speed is great but not available to everyone. As a person who lives in the middle of nowhere I'm a bit ticked off that there is not more being done to make some of the older high speed technologies available to us. Microwave is ok, but it's a much smaller pipe and is shared accross multiple users. At points it's what you get dial up. The satelite options are a joke, with horrid delays and the inability to do things like VOIP. Both are subject to weather issues. The electric line options sound great, but like all the other main ones, they seem to only be available if you live in populated areas. I guess I can't understand why DSL is not even available. From what I remember you just needed to be 3 miles from a specific type of station. Well I was told that I live inside of a mile of one of those, but that the phone companies will not update the lines to handle DSL yet alone FIOS. What a crock. Cable sticks to only populated areas, though Mediacom has a line that ends a block from my house that they will not turn on. One fair option is the mobile internet, but the price of it and the current limited plans would make it a horribly expensive option for a household of 5. Ofcourse the day I get the type available to me, then one of the others will show up or pricing will change.

If a tree falls in the woods...

Well these dang google ads are odd... You mention something one time and another thing 50 but it still seems to focus on one thing. Oh well...

As for IU, wow are we going to struggle in basketball this year. Beatin to a pulp by not only ND but now by Saint Joe!!!! Ofcourse some of the things I've read said if Crean wins over 5 games this year total he has done his job. The NCAA ruling should not hurt IU, so hopefully he can start pulling some better players next year.

Watch out for those Flyers, we should start making a move soon... ...I hope. ...but who is going to beat San Jose? I don't know but they have an astouding Goals to Goals Against ratio.

Lastly the answer is yes. If a tree falls in the woods but no one is there to hear it, it still does make a sound. I think that is the worst question I've ever heard. I understand the theory behind the question but there is no way that the fall can't produce sound waves even if nothing is there to interpret it.

But you have heard of me!

Well, to use my favorite Jack Sparrow quote, it's great that there is going to be another one. I just hope it's a return more to 1 than 2 or 3. Looking forward to it, should be a good time.

Well planning stuff with multiple people and familys sure is a pain in the tail. I think we've managed to get our Thanksgiving weekend together. It's going to be way to busy for my liking.

So is Ebay the new mall? I've picked up several Christmas presents over the past few days all on Ebay. Though I am looking to make a purchase that will come from some other retailers online soon.

To bad people do not give pond chemicals for Christmas!

Oh and I have to mention that I think IU and it's fans got a wake up call last night. It's just to bad we aren't going to be able to do much about it this year.

Big 10s first loss...

Well in basketball anyway. Interestingly enough, as weak as the Big 10 may end up, the ACC and Big East both have more losses so far.

It's official, more than ever, IU stinks in football! We got killed by PU.

While it seems cheap to keep your own set of domain names, you know it's actually really quite costly if you have no purpose for them. I am letting a couple names I've had go back into the available pool. I just can't see paying 20+ a year to hold them when I see no real ability to make anything out of the name itself.

I would love to do a fantasy hockey league, but those things all take so much time and really require you to know so much about all the teams and players. In a way, that is great, but in others it's just to much.

On a side note, we got our ARI papers for our alpacas over the weekend. It's pretty cool how much history they keep on these animals.

Big Ten, good or bad?

Well, I'm questioning the basketball power of the Big 10 more this year than ever. It will be interesting to see how the Big 10 ACC challenge goes down though. So far, some big wins for Big 10 schools. Michigan, Purdue and IU all have some tough games coming up in the next couple days. Good luck!

So how is it that Diet Pepsi Max already needed a new design. I mean, isn't this pop still considered "new" or do cans really need a redesign every few months? IMHO, that means they are making to much money off of pop!

What a day...

Can anyone say Dow 7000? I seemed to think it would bottom out about 7200. Looks like it may end up worse than that!!!

Finally got pictures up of our alpacas on our family farm blog. If you would like to see them, check out http://shadysidealpacafarm.blogspot.com/.

Since I have been selling pond chemicals for about 3 years now, I started blogging some helpful hints about that too. If you have any needs related to pond care questions or products check out the http://pondcaredirect.blogspot.com/ or go directly to the website @ http://www.pondcaredirect.com/. Let me know if you would need any specific questions answered and I'll address them.

To much to do, not enough time or money!

Well, it's that time of year again. Black Friday, gatherings, presents and Christmas. What a tough year for the entire country this year and now the new added pressures that come along with the holiday season. My hopes for everyone out there is that you make the best of it without letting the current state of things get you to far down. It's going to be one of the worst we've had in my family in years.

On a good note, woot, IU 1 and 0! Wow, it's going to be a rough year for me for NCAA hoops. What is it with Kentucky getting beat by VMI!!! Wow, it's going to be an odd year.

Gratz to Jimmy Johnson and his fans. I'm not an anti JJ person nor am I a big fan but I do like Lowes and am a Hendrick Racing Fan.

Oh and can I say "Da Packers!" Although I hate to say it but the NFC North is just awful this year. Early in the year I called a Giants vs Titans Super Bowl and it still looks possible. Though things can always change and 1 loss at the wrong time could be the end of either of them. My thought process was the points against stat. The Giants are no longer number 2 but they have a lower than average points against and the spread to points for is still strong. I'd like to see Miami pass the Jets. Having 4 wild cards per division is nice for getting teams in though.

I'm back!

After a couple days off to recover from my nightly beer rituals I'm back to give some very one sided opinions for everyone to read.

First, we went and saw "Role Models" last night and it's dang funny. I would not take my kids, but for my wife and I, it was a good time.

Had some talks with people on Friday night and we were all complaining about the direction of our government and the two party system. I knew I could not be the only one who thinks we need to get some changes in how the party system works. I don't know about the rest of you, but I want my representation to be a reflection of my values, not the party line.

We have two ShihTzu puppies right now and they are just getting to be active. They are about 3 weeks old, starting to walk, bark, growl and play. Man are they awesome at this age.

We have been battling with a company that did some work on our house earlier this year and it's about to get ugly. They screwed our house up all over and seem to think they need to have the right to finish and collect. The funny part is they cost it's going to be to fix the issues created by and left on our house will be 4 times what we owe them still and he is expecting us to pay them something. Anyway, just my opinion, but stay away from Paramount Home Improvements (in the Mid-West, base office in Flint Michigan) but that is just my opinion.

Wave goodbye to the money!

Well I'm 2600 bucks lighter today than yesterday. For that I guess I'm a good parent who is spending what I consider way to much for teeth. If I am calculating it right, then in the past 3 years I have tallied just over 30 grand into 3 mouths. The kicker to me is just yesterday I was told that for that I may have 2 daughters missing a tooth when it's all said and done. What a croc...

On a good note, we got pics of one of our alpacas that we'll post on our new blog at http://shadysidealpacafarm.blogspot.com in a day or so.

Bowling went well for me and our team last night. We won 22 out of 30 points and I had a 618. The scoring of our league is about the best I've seen yet. I like having head to head matches.

A new blog is alive!

My wife and I have created a new blog at http://shadysidealpacafarm.blogspot.com for us to share everything about our brining alpacas into our farm. It should be quite interesting.

Wow is dealing with kids, schools and sport frustrating!!! Enough said...

Happy Monday?

Well, I'm back and it's odd to say happy about it being Monday...

First, I'd like to offer up my gratz to JJ fans in the Nascar world for pretty much having it in the bag now. Nothings over til it's over but... On the flip side I would like to see Gordon get another cup before he calls it a day. The bigger question is will the money be there to support the high dollar NASCAR series if things do not turn around???

Over the weekend we went to Columbus Ohio to Alpacafest. It was a fun event, well if you like to watch that kind of thing anyway. We were able to see and visit with many owners and alpacas in our one day visit. They are very interesting creatures to say the least. Much more attentive than the cows we have. Can't wait to get our 3 boys home.

Wishing good luck to the IU basketball team this year, which will be a very tough year. I hope thing turn around and maybe we can bring another title home soon.

Crazy days for sure!

What a rough deal it must be to run a company like an auto maker in to the ground then go to the government looking for a hand out. I know that there are lots of jobs supplied by these companies and that is likely why they will get help, but they will still end up cutting huge numbers of workers. They will pay the executives huge bonuses for getting all the job cuts and money from the government and never pay a cent back. If you or I handled a business like this, first we'd go broke, then get no help and probably end up in jail.

It's a great day!!! Indoor soccer tonight, though last week I thought I was going to die from running like that. Man I love it though.

Lastly, while I know it means little or much, I will not be on to post tomorrow. We are off to an alpaca show in Ohio. I do want to wish Bret and Erica luck with the ones they are showing.

Time to rock and roll!

Our local radio station pulls out some great songs just before 1pm each day from the 80s. Today was really good. It included Dio and Brittny Fox. It got me wanting more hair bands so I put in the Scorpions Savage Amusement. Good stuff for sure.

Just a quick gratz out to my kid for getting her sports letter last evening. Dang kid has it to good, gets a letter her first sport her first year of high school.

Ah, the fun of volleyball followed by buck beers. I have been buying the new 64 beer. I really like it thought it's a little weak on taste for me. I normally prefer dark beers, but I like it better than bud light, select and even ultra. Drink up and be safe, we'll blog at you again soon.

A Historical Day!

Well, we have our first minority voted in as president today. It hopefully shows that we have come a long way as a country. I hope that those that voted for McCain were not voting that way only based on race. Everyone needs to pick the reasons they want to support one candidate or the other. I hope we all make our decisions based on that persons views, beliefs, values and other important issues, not on color.

All this did make me wonder if we'd have any riots today if Obama did not win. I just wonder if it would have been taken as him not being elected purely on the color of his skin.

It will be interesting to see how fast gas climbs back up in price though. Keep your belts tight and hold on to your pants!

Get out there and vote!

If you are able to vote today, get out there and get it done. We all have our reasons for how we vote and that is decided by each of us based on what we want or think. I know who I voted for and I'm not telling you who to vote for, but take the time to place your vote today.

Wow am I tired!

Wow is working on a barn hard work. Kept me up late and made me work hard. I suppose it's my IT background that doesn't fit the labor intensive requirements of working on barns. ...but it will all be worth it when we can move our alpacas in to our own area.

I've been playing with the layout. Not sure I like this format but I'll keep it for now. Had to try to figure out how to place ads today.

The real question is do these ads really work and do they pay? Is there really enough traffic and business generated by placing ads on a blog to make it worth me to use them and google to supply and track them? Oh well, I'll know some day either way.

What a busy weekend!

First, anyone else have a pond? I had to put my bio stuff in there. I will hold off until spring to put anymore dye. Luckily late in the year now I no longer have to add copper. I buy all my stuff at www.pondcaredirect.com. They have prices better delivered to my door than any local store I have found.

I also have been working on our alpaca barn. We have purchased our first 3 males. Maybe not the best start up plan ever done for alpacas, but we have 3 kids so we're going to let them show them. We bought really nice animals, so hopefully they will net us some herdsire money! Anyone out there have any opinions on whether it's important to be part of AOBA and ARI?

I'd like to toss a thanks out to my cousin and his wife for throwing a great party every halloween. Also, thanks to my volleyball couple friends that also threw one we attended. We won a prize at my cousins for funniest costumes. My wife dressed as my cow and I was the famer, complete with pitchfork and my wife had udders! lol...
